I'm Too Lazy To Use A Real Camera

After my 30 minute bike session yesterday morning, my legs were sore all day. I know it wasn't from the bike, but it was an easy thing to blame. It was that "stand, hobble, hobble, walk normal" type of sore.

I'm still sore today, but it's a rest day, so it doesn't really matter.

Last night's workout:

x4
3 per side turkish getups (16kg kb)
12 lunges with dumbbell curls at the top
10 push ups with opposite arm/leg raises at the top
0.25 mile sprints @ 10mph (10.5mph for the last one)

x3
15 per side raised leg crunches

And then we did a bunch of difficult stretches that made me act difficult. Stretching for me is hard. The only way my body wants to contort is hunched over a computer.

I bruised my elbow doing the getups.

I'm mildly concerned about how sore I am. I'm hoping it's from taking a week off and not from what was on my plate this week. I don't want to burn out. The last time I tried to train myself while running I picked a "run 5 days a week" marathon training plan and ended up hurting myself and dropping out. This time I have some guidance, which is good, but I'm paranoid. It feels like normal soreness, but alarm bells go off in my head every time my knees ache.

Tomorrow I have a 4m run at pace, and Sunday I have an 8 mile run. I'm looking forward to both. I have a fantasy race goal in mind, so I'm curious to see how the pace feels. And I like the long, no-pressure runs. They feel good.

  3. I would love to see you punch things and figure out how much force you had behind it. Like in the Rocky movie where he battles the Russian. But only if Brigette can be there too.

  4. I just got (for my b-day) a half marathon training e-book (its from this vegetarian runner guy, so also includes lots of nutrition stuff). I like running, but I think it is super fun to have a training guide, even better to have a trainer, but this is good for me. Have fun :)

  6. Can I rent your arms. I wanna flex them at the guys I work with who have no muscles and eat fries and hot dogs three meals a day. Maybe I just need to do more kettle bell snatches. snicker snicker.

  7. You are stronger this time round, try not to be paranoid and differentiate between the pain and your mind trying to play games with you.

  8. I'm wondering what your fantasy pace is...

But yeah, don't be paranoid. Listen to your body, of course, but don't overthink it.

  9. Nice guns - definitely getting your money's worth from that trainer.

"Fantasy race goal" .... Trying to think what my goal would be for a fantasy race ... faster than Bigfoot, but I doubt I could get ahead of a unicorn. Hope I wouldn't get chicked by the tooth fairy.
